Prithviraj's latest release Paavada is turning out to be Malayalam cinema's first hit of 2016, and the actor has already moved on to his next.
He has unveiled the first look of his forthcoming bilingual, Karnan.
Directed by Ennu Ninte Moideen fame R S Vimal and produced by Venu Kunnappilly of Kavya Films, Karnan was launched in Dubai recently.
At an estimated budget of Rs 45 crores, it is easily the costliest film ever made in Malayalam.
According to estimates, Malayalam’s costliest film until now was Pazhassi Raja, which the producers claim was made at a budget of around Rs 27 crores.

‘How small I am,’ says Mammootty
Superstar Mammootty recently posted a picture of himself with a man much taller to him on Facebook, with a comment: How small I am!
The picture is believed to have been taken during the shooting of Ram’s Tamil film, Peranbu, which Mammootty is working on currently.
Meanwhile, the superstar will be seen in Puthiya Niyamam, opposite Nayantara, soon.

Geetu Mohandas announces Insha’ Allah
Filmmaker Geetu Mohandas, whose debut feature film Liar’s Dice was India’s entry at the Oscars in 2014, has announced her next, titled Insha’ Allah.
Produced under the banner of JAR Pictures, the film's tagline reads, 'In pursuit of Akbar'.
Geetu’s husband and ace cinematographer Rajeev Ravi will wield the camera.
Incidentally, Rajeev is busy wrapping up his third feature film, starring Dulquer Salmaan.
Geetu first shot to fame as a child artiste in Onnu Muthal Poojyam Vare and then made a comeback as a heroine years later. She has also directed an award-winning short film titled Kelkkunnundo.
