It's been a whirlwind trip in India for Sir Ian McKellen, who celebrated his 77th birthday on May 25.

The Lord Of The Rings (Gandalf) and X-Men (Magneto) actor is on the first leg of his 10-country tour to mark Shakespeare's 400th death anniversary.

Sir Ian, who came out as gay in 1988, has been vocal about LGBT rights and took time out to inaugurate the 7th Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival in Mumbai on his birthday.
