PIX: Madhavan, Ritika celebrate Pongal

The Saala Khadoos team -- including actors R Madhavan and Ritika Singh and producer Rajkumar Hirani -- celebrated the festival of Pongal at a Mumbai restaurant called Banana Leaf on January 14.

The team dressed up traditionally, enjoyed a Pongal breakfast and posed for pictures.

A perfect Pongal picture!

Hirani was apparently surprised to see Madhavan at his home at 8 am, carrying the traditional outfit -- the Angavastram, a white shirt and the vesthi -- for him.

He was initially hesitant about wearing it. But when he did, he found it very comfortable.

It was Madhavan's idea to celebrate Pongal with his Saala Kaddoos team.

"During Diwali, I wear kurta and pajama. So during my festival, I can do this much," he says with his trademark smile.

Hirani and Ritika enjoy the Pongal breakfast.

Ritika tells us that this is the first time she has worn a sari!

A boxer in real life, Ritika had a tough time wearing the traditional half-sari -- called the Pavada Davani -- and her mother was quite shocked to see her in this avatar.
