Katrina Kaif, who has been in the industry for over a decade now, has been honoured with the Smita Patil Memorial award for the year 2016.

There has been a lot of debate on social media whether she deserved it or not, making talented actress Swara Bhaskar even pen a column in defense of Katrina.

While the debate goes on, the actress collected her trophy from Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, at Mumbai's Trident Hotel on September 18.
