One of India's most celebrated directors Bimal Roy's 50th death anniversary was celebrated with a retrospective of his classics at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai, from January 11 to 16. It was done by the Bimal Roy Memorial Committee in collaboration with Cine Society.

The closing day also saw Lifetime Achievement awards to some of Bollywood's veteran actors.

Television actress Sulbha Arya, who had been the inspiration for Shabana Azmi's role in Chalk N Duster, smiles for the cameras.
