Adnan Sami celebrated his 42nd birthday on August 15 with his family.

A look at the celebrations:

"It was my first birthday in India after I was granted the freedom to stay in the country indefinitely," Adnan says. "I spent it in Delhi. I made it a point to reply to every single message I got on Twitter and  Facebook. It was a marathon of love and the most beautiful connection I had devoting myself to my fans in India and the world who have put me where I am today."

Wife Roya was at Adnan’s side.

"Roya had quietly told the hotel where we are staying to bake a special cake for me," he says.

"In the evening, my friends put together a birthday party. My brother Junaid (in the picture) celebrated my birthday with me after 11 years! For some reason, we have not been together on my birthday all these years."

"It was a memorable birthday with all my friends wishing me and welcoming me to India for good," the singer concludes.
