Oscar winning director Peter Jackson has filed a lawsuit against his distributor New Line Cinema, claiming the studio owes him millions of dollars in profits from 2001's Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring.
According to Eonline, Jackson's production company Wingnut Films filed the suit in the Los Angeles federal court, charging New Line and subsidiary Katja Motion Pictures with some 'book-cooking'
Jackson also believes New Line gave deals to its affiliates when it came to working out licensing agreements.
As per the suit, New Line failed to procure additional licensing revenue 'without first seeking the most competitive and beneficial deals from unaffiliated third parties in a free and open market.'
