'Why did he do this?'
'He had achieved everything.'
Usha Nadkarni, who played Sushant Singh Rajput's mother on the popular television show Pavitra Rishta, can't stop crying.
"The entire team of Pavitra Rishta is devastated," she tells Rediff.com Contributor Rajul Hegde.
"I still can't believe that he committed suicide and is gone," she adds.
"I received the news through my hair dresser. Initially, I brushed it off as a hoax and said it must be someone else," she says.
"Why did he do this? He had achieved everything -- a successful career, a house in Bandra (north west Mumbai), luxurious cars..."
"Why would he take this decision?"
"We worked together for two-and-a-half years. He would call me 'Aai' on the set," recalls Nadkarni.
"He played my son in Pavitra Rishta and trust me, we had the same bond off screen too."
"He didn't talk much, but he would smile when I would talk loudly or sing on set."
"Though he was reserved, he would discuss his family and dreams with me," she recalls.
"I was not in touch with him after the show. But once he came on the set after his film Kai Po Che!."
"I said, 'Sushant, you have become so thin!' He said joking, 'Kya karoon? Koi khana nahi dehta hai!'."
"He was working so hard and doing well for himself."
"Ankita (Lokhande, Sushant's co-star in Pavitra Rishta and then girlfriend) recently formed a Pavitra Rishta WhatsApp group. Everybody had requested to add Sushant also."
'The question that will keep haunting us is: 'Why?''
