Latest updates from Bollywood.
Parineeti Chopra, who has been receiving a mixed response for her new slim avatar, says she is endorsing fitness and a healthy body.
The 27-year-old Hasee Toh Phasee star used to be adored for her plump figure. Parineeti said she worked to shed the extra kilos because she wanted to have 'better stamina'.
'That (criticism) is absolutely bizarre. Being thin is a different thing, I wanted to have better stamina and control over my body... I am not endorsing being thin, I am endorsing being your fittest self,' the actress told reporters at the red carpet of the Stardust Awards.
Talking about her weight loss, Parineeti added she is happy that the result of her hard work is showing.
'It's good because, ever since I've become an actress, people used to talk about my weight in a different way. I wanted to work on my body and I got 6-8 months to work on it. I am glad the results are showing.'
The actress was last seen in the 2014 dud Kill Dil.

Abhishek Bachchan to star in Milap Zaveri's next?
Writer-turned-director Milap Zaveri reveals his next will be a comedy film with two heroes. It will be produced by Ashwin Varde and his partner, Murad Khetani.
Reportedly, if all goes well, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan will come together for this project, which is expected to go on the floors early next year.
However, Milap told PTI, 'There is no Riteish. There are talks on with few people and there are talks on with Abhishek. Once it (the cast) is locked, then we can talk.'
Milap has been associated with adult comedies like Kya Kool Hain Hum and Grand Masti. But his new film, says the director, will be a clean comedy.
This will be Milap's second film as director after the Sunny Leone starrer, Mastizaade, which releases on January 29.

Not just a cameo for SRK in Gauri Shinde's next, says Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt has refuted reports that her upcoming project with Shah Rukh Khan would have the superstar just in an extended cameo.
It was reported that SRK would be not be the protagonist in the movie, which is to be directed by Gauri Shinde, and that the movie would, in fact, be women-centric with three male leads.
'He's in the film. I am doing the film with him. Don't take it away from me,' Alia told reporters at the red carpet of the Stardust Awards.
There were rumours that the 22-year-old actress started crying while shooting for the yet-untitled film. Alia joked, 'I've not started crying yet, but I will start because the role is so tough.'
The film is co-produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Dharma Productions. This will be Shinde's second directorial venture after the critically and commercially successful English Vinglish.
