Om Puri appointed NFDC chairman

Veteran actor Om Puri has been appointed as the chairman of the National Films Division Corporation. He will formally take charge on April 23, after holding a press conference.

Puri was last seen in Priyadarshan's comedy, Dhol. The actor also had an important role in the Hollywood film, Charlie Wilson's War, which also stars Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. Puri plays the late Pakistan President Zia-Ul-Haq in the film.

Currently, he is shooting for Rakyesh Mehra's Dilli 6 and Anees Bazme's Singh is Kinng.
