Like Ranbir Kapoor, we probably won't see Amitabh Bachchan in a movie this year.
Three Bachchan films were scheduled for release in 2020, but all of them stand postponed.
Shoojit Sircar's Gulabo Sitabo, with Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana, was to release on April 18 while Nagraj Manjule's football drama Jhund was slated for May 8.
Sources close to the projects say the new dates will be decided after the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown ends.
The long-delayed Karan Johar production Brahmastra was to release on December 4, but given the circumstances it is unlikely to make it in time for its scheduled release.
Interestingly, the Big B's first 2020 release -- AB Ani CD -- in Marathi was released and then pulled out of theatres after a lockdown was imposed by the Maharashtra government.
"It's a chaotic situation for all," a source tells Subhash K Jha. "Amitji has four releases (three in Hindi, one in Marathi) this year and none of them may make to the theatres. He also has a couple of delayed shoots, including Rumi Jaffrey's Chehre, to complete. But he will not be back to shoot immediately once the coronavirus threat ends."
"Because of his various illnesses, Amitji's immunity system is unusually low. He cannot risk an infection."
