Vijayakanth to work with his son again

Shanmugapandian, son of veteran actor-turned- politician Vijayakanth, made his debut with the action flick Sagaptham, which released earlier this year.

The film turned out to be a major disaster at the box office despite Vijayakanth essaying a crucial role in it.

The father-son duo is all set to come together again for a historical film titled Tamizhan Endru Soll. As the title suggests, the film will be a tribute to the Tamil language.

Vijayakanth announced the film at an event conducted at the RKV Studio, Chennai.

It will be directed by debutant Arun Ponnambalam. Hip Hop Aadhi, who is fresh from the success of Thani Oruvan, has been roped in to compose the music.

Akshay Kumar in the Hindi remake of Murugadoss' Kaththi?

Director AR Murugadoss' Kaththi, starring Vijay, was one of the biggest hits of 2014.

A Telugu remake with superstar Chiranjeevi, who is looking for an interesting script for his 150th film, is already on the cards.

But the latest buzz is about the Hindi remake, which is most likely to be made with Akshay Kumar. The film will be directed by Jagan, a long-time associate of Murugadoss.

Interestingly, Akshay had starred in the Hindi version of the Vijay-Murugadoss blockbuster Thuppakki titled Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty.

The film will be produced by Murugadoss in association with Lyca Productions.
