The Arjun Kapoor-Parineeti Chopra starrer Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar has been indefinitely postponed. It was to release on March 1.

While Director Dibakar Banerjee (who needs a hit badly after his flop Detective Byomkesh Bakshy) tells Subhash K Jha that his new film is in post-production and a new release date will be announced soon, sources close to the producer Yash Raj Films say there are no immediate plans to release the film.

"Not after what happened with Arjun and Parineeti's Namaste England," the sources say. "Another Arjun-Parineeti release six months after Namaste England seems suicidal. And Adi Chopra (producer Aditya Chopra) is no mood to commit professional harakiri."

Yash Raj Films, by the way, delivered 2018's huge flop, Thugs Of Hindostan.

So where does this leave Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar? Yash Raj may not release it in theatres at all.
