Indian cinema has lost one of its enduring icons.
Gemini Ganesan, called Kadhal Mannan or King of Romance, passed away at his Chennai residence on Tuesday after suffering from a prolonged illness.
Ganesan, 84, is survived by a son and seven daughters, among them actress Rekha.
In a career spanning over five decades, the southern superstar acted in over 200 films.
