The National Film Awards are never complete unless there is a controversy attached to them. Or so it seems. If it was the Best Actress Award for Raveena Tandon in 2001, it is the Best Actor Award for Ajay Devgan this time that is in the line of fire.
No less a personality than acclaimed film-maker Adoor Gopalakrishnan, himself a former chairman of the National Film Awards jury, has said that current jury chairman Prakash Jha should not have participated in the judging process because Devgan is acting in his forthcoming film Gangajal. A charge Jha refuses to entertain.
