Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s 'heroine crisis' seems to be over.

After Chitrangda Singh’s unceremonious walk-out of Kushan Nandy's Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, the film was left without a heroine.

The crisis has been solved.

Bengali actress Bidita Bag has been roped in to replace Chitrangda.

Bidita, who has acted in 11 films in four languages (Bengali, Hindi, Oriya and Assamese) is described by the Babumoshai Bandookbaaz team as “a younger version of Chitrangda, and just as talented."

She was last seen in the experimental film X, where she was cast opposite Rajat Kapoor in one of the episodes.

"We wanted someone who would fit in to the plot effortlessly after the earlier heroine’s departure," says director Kushan Nandy. "Bidita immediately gave us the dates we required. She is perfect for the part."
