Shoojit Sircar’s next film Piku, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Irrfan and Deepika Padukone, has got another addition to its cast.

Bengali heartthrob Jisshu Sengupta (in the picture) has been roped in the romantic lead opposite Deepika.

Jisshu had made his Bollywood debut with a guest appearance opposite Ileana D’Cruz in Anurag Basu’s Barfi. He will be seen next in Pradeep Sarkar’s Mardaani, where he plays Rani Mukerji’s husband.

Apparently, Shoojit was keen on casting Jisshu opposite Deepika as the role suited him to perfection. Besides, the director really liked him in his Bengali film, Jatishwar.

"It’s a big break with a director I really admire and with actors I really love," says Jisshu. "It has been my dream to work with Mr Bachchan from the time I decided I wanted to be an actor. Irrfanji is another actor I truly admire. As for Deepika, isn’t she everyone’s favourite dream girl these days?”

The Piku shoot will start in Mumbai in August.
