Should sexy videos be banned?

July 11, 2003

What did you like better in the music video of the remixed song Kaliyon ka chaman? The song? Or Meghna Naidu's sinuous moves?

Even in the remixed Kaanta Laga. Was it Lata Mangeshkar's beautiful voice or Shefali Jariwala's strategically placed rubber stamp? The remixed version of Chadti jawani took things further and introduced three women making their moves in front of the camera.

Remixes are in. As are the hot, sexy music videos that accompany them.

All of them are big hits and are at the top of the music charts. All of them also raked up huge controversies because of their 'obscene content.'

Sex sells. But should it be beamed across satellite channels and into people's homes?

Do you think sexy music videos should be banned? Or do you believe it is another form of freedom of expression? Should the viewer be allowed to decide what s/he want or does not want to see?

We would like to hear your thoughts.
