Bangalore will not miss out on the Mark Knopfler treat in the first week of March after all. The former Dire Straits frontman will play in Mumbai on March 5, and the Garden City on March 7. But he will give New Delhi a miss.

Tickets for the concerts will be priced at Rs 2,500 and Rs 1,000 -- up from the Rs 2,000, Rs 1500 and Rs 900 slabs for Sting.

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar is one of the chosen few to be given a special invite for the Mumbai concert, as he is a huge Knopfler fan.

According to the organisers, the man with one of the most distinctive guitar sounds in history will play some of the songs that first catapulted him to stardom and earned him fans such as the late princess Diana.

On the song-list will be the haunting ode to a love gone wrong -- Romeo Juliet; Sultans of swing -- which made fun of rock and became a global anthem and the attitude song that kicks off with Sting's demand for MTV, Money for nothing.
