Manju Warrier to play a super cop

Here's the lowdown from the Malayalam film industry.

Manju Warrier will play an IPS officer in Rajesh Pillai's forthcoming film.

According to scenarist Arunlal Ramachandran, the character has taken inspiration from certain high profile lady super cops from Kerala.

Kunchacko Boban and Jayasurya are also playing the lead roles in this psychological thriller.

Rajesh Pillai, who shot into fame with the superb Traffic, directed this year’s Mili with Amala Paul and Nivin Pauly in the lead.

Manju Warrier, who has completed Aashiq Abu’s Rani Padmini, is currently shooting for Rojin ThomasJo and the boy.

Asif Ali’s son is the hero of the day!

During the audio release of director Vinay Govind's Kohinoor in Kochi, all eyes were on a child, who was on the lap of superstar Mammootty! Incidentally, it was also the launch of a production banner named after him.

The young boy is Adam, actor Asif Ali’s son.

Kohinoor is being produced by Asif’s banner, Adam’s World of Imagination, and will hit the screens on September 24.

The adorable Adam enjoyed all the attention and enjoyed the company of such celebrities like Mammootty, Kunchacko Boban, Nivin Pauly, Aju Varghese and Vijay Yesudas during the function.

Balachandra Menon is back

Veteran director and actor Balachandra Menon, who has made several hits in the past and has launched several successful heroines like Sobhana, Parvathy, Karthika, Annie and Nandini aka Kausalya in his illustrious career, is back with Njan Samvidhanam Cheyyum that releases next week.

Balachandra Menon plays the male lead.

He will launch a new heroine named Dakshina, who will play his daughter in the story.
