'You can't ARREST dissenting students'
Celebrities turned to Twitter criticise the arrest of five students of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) on charges of rioting:
Shekhar Kapur: There was a time #FTII was considered one of the best film schools in Asia and produced some brilliant talent. What happened?
Rajat Kapoor: Its shocking that the government cannot find the right person with the right vision for FTII- they'd rather let it develop into this mess!
Resul Pookutty: Arrest?! In the middle of the night?! I do not think the police have followed the rules laid out by SC in making arrests! My debate is the time and manner in which it is done!
Hansal Mehta: Those who think absolute authority will quell the rebellion of a few students, beware. The oppressor will perish. The rebel will survive.
Anubhav Sinha: ABSOLUTELY CONDEMNABLE!!! You can't ARREST dissenting students.... #FTII. Honestly, Government should appoint a retired Vice Chancellor to sort the FTII issue. He will deal with this better. Ab goli chalaoge kya?
