Interestingly, Rituparno Ghosh wanted to cast Ash in the teleseries Sahib, Biwi Aur Ghulam, based on Guru Dutt's film.
Meanwhile, Deepa Mehta had made a similar announcement with Ash, for a film. And Ghosh roped in Raveena Tandon instead.
Ash may even play the lead in Mehta's River Moon.
She has bagged several prestigious films like Gurinder Chhada's Bride And Prejudice and Coline Serreau's Chaos, along with Meryl Streep.
Recently, she finished a shooting schedule of Samir Karnik's Kyon...! Ho Gaya Na, opposite Vivek Oberoi.
