Although they have both won Best Actor nominations at the Oscars, Jude Law has made it very public that Sean Penn is the deserving candidate for the award, mentions People Magazine.

Heavy praise for Penn, nominated for his performance in Clint Eastwood's Mystic River, from Law. The latter is in the running for his work in Anthony Minghella's Cold Mountain.

Law, who has always been an admirer of Penn's work, tells Reuters,

'I think it should be his year, personally." Penn won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a dramatic role this year.

Other nominees for Best Actor include Bill Murray (Lost in Translation), Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl) and Ben Kingsley (House of Sand and Fog).
