Kher was presented with the Certificate of Excellence Thursday in Las Vegas by Nevada Senator Ruben Kihuen (in the picture above) who praised the 60-year-old veteran actor for providing quality entertainment.
"Thank you for bringing such an extraordinary performance to Las Vegas and various other cities around USA.
"It has been an honor to meet and watch the cinematic genius live on stage," Ruben, who declared 10th September as Anupam Kher Day, said.
Kher has been honoured with various awards and recognition for his contribution to cinema and art following a resounding success of the repeat show of his play Mera Matlab Woh Nahin Tha here and back-to-back shows in 20 other US cities and in Canada.
"It is said that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas," an excited Kher told PTI.
But this honour by the State of Nevada will not stay only in Vegas but will travel to the world and to my beloved country and prove my philosophy of "life mein kuch bhi ho sakta hai," he said.
On September 8, the veteran Indian actor was Kher was presented with the "Honored Guest" award by Deputy Mayor of Houston Ed Gonzalez on behalf of Texas Governor Greg Abbot.
The 60-year-old actor was honoured just days after being conferred with a "Senate Proclamation" by The Texas State Senate.
The document read, "Anupam Kher is an Honored Guest of the Lone Star State. On the occasion of your visit, I extend a warm welcome to this land of great diversity".
Meanwhile, Kher is off to San Fracisco for last three performances before ending his US tour and flying back to India next week.
He will perform in San Francisco on Friday and Saturday, before winding his last show of the tour in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Kher, who has drawn in huge crowds, has taken a year off time for his passion towards stage performances.
Performances by Kher, Neena Gupta and Rakesh Bedi in a carefully-worded walk down memory lane have made audience laugh, cry, cheer and applaud endlessly.
Kher has appeared in Hollywood films like Mistress of Spices, Bend It Like Beckham, Lust, Caution and Silver Linings Playbook, has taken a year off time for his passion towards stage performances.
