The distributors and theatre owners of Chennai-Chengalpattu region who have demanded compensation from Seven Arts, Kavithaalaya, Pyramid Saimira International Films and Rajnikanth for the debacle of Kuselan, have come to an understanding.

At the end of their deliberations on the Kuselan issue on September 2 in Chennai, the distributors/theatre owners combine issued a joint communique stating that 'they had a frank discussion and decided to call off their earlier decision not to cooperate in future with films produced by Seven Arts/Kavithalaya, distributed by Aingaran Films/Pyramid Saimeera Films and films starring Rajnikanth.'

They had further stated that, 'we had decided to respect and abide by the time-tested moralities followed in the film world since time immemorial.  We would also like to disown some statements reported to have been made by us in the past.'

The communique also recalled how the industry has witnessed repeated successes and failures since its inception and conceded that this is probably the only industry in the whole world where neither success nor failure of a particular movie is beyond the comprehension of any expert.

In the backdrop of the release of this communique, it is expected that Kavithalaaya, Seven Arts and Pyramid Saimira would pay them the compromise formula of 35% amount, worked out earlier with the superstar's intervention.

With an amicable end to the issue, director Shankar can now go ahead with his magnum opus Enthiram starring Rajnikanth.
