The stars will never show up.' 'Something will go wrong.' 'Call off the show.'

With so much 'negative publicity' going on, the Bollywood Musical Nite in Auckland, New Zealand, almost didn't happen.

But, The New Zealand Herald reports, not only did the show take place, it was also a great success, prompting the organisers to plan more such events on a bigger scale.

Attended by a 'multicultural' audience of more than 2,500, the musical night featured performances from singing sensations such as Sunidhi Chauhan and Abhijeet.

This is Chauhan's second visit to New Zealand. The first time she accompanied Shah Rukh Khan on a concert in the late 1990s. "That show sold on Shah Rukh Khan's name at that time," she told the Herald. "Now, it's Abhijeet and me."

Former Miss India and MTV VJ Nafisa Joseph presented the event that took place at the Logan Campbell Centre in One Tree Hill.
