A six-hour interview with John Lennon which had been lost for more than 40 years has finally been published.

The full-length chat, in which the pop legend says awarding The Beatles MBEs "was one of the biggest jokes in the history of this island", has been published in the New Statesman, reports The Sun.

The interview was carried out for a college paper in December 1968 by student Maurice Hindle.

In it he revealed that the money he earned had not made him happy.

The interview also revealed his furious response at having Revolution, one of his most famous songs with the Beatles, unfavourably compared to the BBC radio drama Mrs Dale's Diary, reports the guardian.co.uk.
