And guess who has toppled The Peas who had held steady at No 1 for 26 straight weeks with Boom Boom Pow (12 weeks) and I Gotta Feeling (14 weeks)?
It's Southall singer Jay Sean who moved up to the number one spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 with his latest single Down.
By doing so, the 28-year-old British singer/rapper/hip-hopper, whose real name is Kamaljit Singh Jhooti, became the first British urban male artist to have a number one US single, beating the previous top 10 achievements of Mark Morrison and Craig David.
Down, which features labelmate Lil Wayne, is his first release in America. The track sold over 1.5m downloads to get to the top.
'It's just incredible to have reached No 1 with my first release in America,' guardian.co.uk quoted the singer as saying on its web site.
Jay Sean quit a degree in medicine to pursue music. He was signed up by the record label Virgin in 2003 and scored a number of hits in the UK after that.
In October 2008 he left Virgin for Cash Money. Sean is set to release Down in the UK on October 26.
