Janhvi, Kartik in Dostana sequel

Dostana 2 has finally entered the pipeline with Karan Johar announcing the film's lead cast.

The second installment of the 2008 comedy will star Kartik Aryan, Janhvi Kapoor and 'a soon to be launched fresh face', whose name is yet to be revealed.

The Abhishek Bachchan-Priyanka Chopra-John Abraham starrer Dostana made quite an impact 11 years ago with its humorous plotline and the fact that it dealt with the then taboo theme of homosexuality.

Karan, who produced the first film, said the franchise is all set to return with 'unlimited madness!'

The film will be directed by Collin Cunha who began his career as third assistant director on Talaash, graduated to second second assistant director on Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, PK and NH10, moved up to second assistant director on Shaandaar, before taking over as first assistant director on Secret Superstar and Sanju.

Collin has worked on the Dostana 2 script along with Navjot Gulati, Sumit Aroraa and Rishabh Sharma.

Kartik is certainly going places. He recently wrapped up shooting for Pati Patni Aur Woh alongside Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar.

He is currently shooting Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal 2, co-starring Sara Ali Khank.

Janhvi is currently working on a biopic based on Gunjan Saxena, India's first lady IAF officer. She will also be seen in Karan Johar's multi-starrer Takht alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Anil Kapoor and in Hardik Mehta's Roohi Afza with Rajkummar Rao.
