Bollywood is heeding a call beyond the movies and exploring the exciting new digital world.
Quite a few film stars are signing up for interesting web series, far removed from the regular fare they present in the movies.
Joginder Tuteja takes a look.
Akshay Kumar, The End
Most of the stars exploring the digital world haven't tasted success in Bollywood for a while. Akshay Kumar is the exception; a star who has signed up a web series while being at the top of his game.
The actor will be seen in Vikram Malhotra's action thriller, The End, and he made the announcement while going up in flames.
Saif Ali Khan, Sacred Games
Saif Ali Khan made a superb impression with his web debut, Sacred Games, and the series raked in a lot of critical acclaim and commercial success.
Now, he's getting ready for the second season.
He joins cast members Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi and many more in the crime thriller.
Abhishek Bachchan, Breathe 2
R Madhavan impressed us in his web series, Breathe.
Since his character died in the first season, the second season has Abhishek Bachchan.
Vikram Malhotra brings together an interesting cast with Amit Sadh, from the first season, along with Mirzya girl Saiyaami Kher and Nithya Menen.
The shooting has wrapped up.
Dia Mirza, Kaafir
It's been a while since we saw Dia Mirza in a central role on screen.
Though she was seen as Ranbir Kapoor's on-screen wife in Sanju, one waited to catch her in a meatier part.
In Kaafir, Dia plays a Kashmiri woman trapped between the politics of India and Pakistan.
Directed by Sonam Nair, the show co-stars Mohit Raina.
Kunal Kemmu, Abhay
After an impressive turn in Kalank, Kunal Kemmu stars in the web series, Abhay.
Directed by Ken Ghosh, the crime series is on the same lines as Matthew Mcconaughey-starrer, True Detective.
Emraan Hashmi, The Bard Of Blood
Emraan Hashmi is among the most talented actors in Bollywood but commercial success eludes him.
That should happen in his web series debut, The Bard Of Blood, an action thriller.
Based on an espionage thriller novel by Bilal Siddiqi, the show is being produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies.
Made In Heaven's Sobhita Dhulipala co-stars in it.
Vivek Oberoi, Inside Edge
Everyone loves cricket and the politics behind it, and Inside Edge proved to be quite entertaining as well.
Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani brought in an ensemble cast in Vivek Oberoi, Richa Chadha, Tanuj Virwani, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Sanjay Suri and Angad Bedi.
Now, it's up for a second season.
Ali Fazal, Mirzapur
Gangster drama Mirzapur saw a talented cast coming together, like Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey, Pankaj Tripathy, Divyendu Sharma, Sriya Pilgaonkar, Rasika Duggal and Rajesh Tailang.
The second season has been announced and we can't wait to see the fireworks again.
