India-born musician nominated for Grammy 2012

The Grammy nominations for 2012 have a little something for Indians to look forward to.

Indian-born Singaporean music producer/composer Arun Shenoy has been nominated for his debut record Rumbadoodle in the Best Pop/Instrumental Album category.

Also nominated in the same category are Chris Botti, Larry Carlton, Dave Koz and Gerald Albright
and Norman Brown.

Shenoy, 34, was born in Manipal, Karnataka and worked as a software engineer before taking up music professionally.

Before releasing his solo production Rumbadoodle, the musician had collaborated with sereval bands as well as solo artists.

His debut album, a result of many years of travels through different countires including Pakistan, UK, USA and India, masterfully brings together traditional as well as new genres of music.

The 2012 Grammy Awards will be telecast on February 10, 2013.
