'What I really liked about her is that she respected our profession. She gave artists their due.'
'She treated us like important people.'
Make-up artist Ojas Rajani looks back at his encounters with Sridevi.
Ojas Rajani, who worked as Aishwarya Rai's make-up artist, has worked with many actresses in Bollywood.
Shocked to hear about Sridevi's untimely death, he relives some beautiful memories. As told to Rediff.com's A Ganesh Nadar.
I worked with her for so many shows. She was a total professional.
What I really liked about her is that she respected our profession.
She gave artists their due. She treated us like important people.
In a matlabi (selfish) industry, she was a loving and caring person.
When we went for shoots, she would make sure we had something to eat and drink before we began work.
I have known her for years, right from the time of Judaai.
I have done numerous songs with her over the years.
Her comeback event at the Filmfare awards, where she did a solo dance and comes out of a lotus, I did her make up for that show.
She would let me what kind of look would be good for her.
She never interfered with that. She trusted me to know what would suit a particular scene or mood.
I have done many ads with her too.
The last time I met her was a few months ago. Tina Ambani had an event in Agra and I had gone there with Sridevi.
What I will always remember about her was that she was a thorough professional, always on time on the sets. She never kept anyone waiting.
She took her work seriously, so there were never any jokes or silly behaviour.
Work was serious for her and that's how she dealt with it.
The entire industry will miss her, and so will her fans.
My heart goes out to her two daughters, who will miss her the most.
