HOLY WOW! Shilpa, Alia, Kareena, Esha stun in gorgeous lehengas

The one where Bollywood divas pulled out all stops for a celebrity sangeet ceremony.

Fashion designer and bestie to almost the entire Bollywood brigade, Manish Malhotra invited his famous friends for the sangeet ceremony of his niece Riddhi over the weekend in Mumbai.

And they turned up in huge numbers, donning their designer (mostly Malhotra) best.

Take a look.

Shilpa Shetty, who had arrived with husband Raj Kundra, paired her rather contemporary outfit with eye catching green accessories.

Alia Bhatt's majestic white lehenga featured gold embroidery.

While Karisma Kapoor chose a relatively understated anarkali, younger sister Kareena Kapoor Khan went all out with a blinding sparkler of a lehenga for the do.

The Arora sisters -- Amrita and Malaika were more colour-coordinated in their respective deep red numbers.

Actress/singer Sophie Choudry looked regal and almost bride-like in her intricately designed number.

Meanwhile, Ameesha Patel's lehenga of choice featured jarring colours and a rather ill-fitted neckline.

Parineeti Chopra wears her classic Manish Malhotra in regal blue with an air of nonchalance.

The emerging pusher of the fashion envelope, Esha Gupta settled for this striking neon crop top and vibrant skirt combination by designer Manish Arora, which was a welcome respite in the sea of overwhelming ethnic numbers.

Raveena Tandon, who was accompanied by film distributor husband Anil Thadani, steps aside for a solo shot in a bottle green beauty. That bindi is perfection.

Badlapur actress Huma Qureshi kept it understated with a white number featuring mirror work.

While her Gangs of Wassepur costar Richa Chadda opted for a fiery red fusion number.

Aditi Rao Hydari channeled royal glam in her green silk lehenga.

This look, among many others, would qualify as a bit of an overkill, considering it's someone else's special day.

And wonder of wonders, Ekta Kapoor cleaned up good for her appearance too. Dressed in a pink and blue lehenga, she is see here arriving with mum Shobha Kapoor.
