In a damage control exercise, actor-turned-Member of Parliament, Govinda has called a press conference on Wednesday night to clear the confusion after a Mumbai-based tabloid claimed that the actor has a poor attendance record in Lok Sabha, and that it was doubtful whether he attend the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha on July 22.

To add to the injury, BJP leader Ram Naik, whom Govinda had defeated in the last election, told rediff.com that Govinda had attended only 37 out of 303 meetings

so far.

The Congress is falling short of 15 votes in Parliament to win a majority after the Left parties withdrew the support on the nuclear deal issue.

Govinda had joined politics after his film career nosedived. However, after his 2007 film, Partner, was declared a hit, Govinda bagged some movie offers, and politics took a backseat.

Govinda, who is currently shooting for Ravi Chopra's Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai, will address the media at 9 pm at his residence.
