Since the main crop of the region is coffee, a coffee plantation is the backdrop. The Coorgi culture is a part of the storyline.
Coffee Bloom is produced by Harish Ameen of Speaking Tree Pictures and directed by Manu Warrier (Goonga).
The film is co-written and co-produced by Sharath Parvathvani, a techie who has worked in the American corporate sector for a decade before settling down in Bengaluru.
Coffee Bloom is about a Coorgi coffee expert, who wants to take sanyas after a failed love affair. Due to circumstances, he goes back to Kodagu where he meets his ex-girlfriend who is happily married to someone else and ends up working for her.
The film has just five characters. Arjun Mathur, who had acted in Luck By Chance and My Name Is Khan, plays the lead.
Sugandha Garg, who was seen in Jaane Tu... Yaa Jaane Naa, plays the female lead.
Mohan Kapoor of Saanp Seedi fame, Ishwari Bose and Nandini Sen form the rest of the cast. Sharath Parvathvani appears in a cameo role.
The background score and three songs have been composed by Prasad Ruparel.
The film has been shot at a coffee estate owned by the Chengappas and in the famous Elephant Corridor of Kodagu.
The film will release on March 6.
