December 03, 2012 12:44 IST
Finally, the first look of one of the most anticipated films of the year -- Mani Ratnam's
Kadal -- is out.
His last film,
Raavan, was not well received by critics or the public but a Mani Ratnam film is always something to look forward to.
Two young actors, Gautham Karthik and Tulasi Nair, are in the lead. They are the children of yesteryear actors Karthik and Radha who made their debut in Bharatiraja's
Alaigal Oyvathillai.
The
film also marks the comeback of Arvind Swamy.
Swamy's first role was as the young IAS officer in Mani Ratnam's
Dalapathi. He rose to fame with after
Bombay and
Roja.
Arjun and Lakshmi Manchu also act in
Kadal.
Rajeev Menon is the cinematographer and A R Rahman, the music director. The single sung by Shakthisree Gopalan that released on MTV, is a huge hit.
Kadal is produced by Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies in both Tamil and Telugu.
