Veteran director Joshiy is making Sevens, a Malayalam thriller with football as the backdrop. Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Nivin Pauly, Rajith Menon, Kuttu, Vijeesh and Ameer are members of the Sevens football team.

Football tournaments with seven-member teams are quite popular in northern Kerala. The film is being shot in Kozhikode and Kochi.

Bhama and Rima Kallingal play the heroines while old-timer Nadia Moidu is
doing an important role as the police commissioner. Nadia's comeback film Doubles, with Mammootty, was a big disappointment.

The script has been written by Dr Iqbal Kuttippuram, whose previous film Arabikkatha, with Lal Jose and Sreenivasan, was a big success.

Camera work is by Ajayan Vincent and Biji Bal scores the music. Sevens is produced by Santosh Pavithram and Sajay Sebastian.

Joshiy has recently directed the hit multi-starrer, Christian Brothers.
