It’s almost here.

Fans of Gillian Flynn’s bestselling novel Gone Girl have reason to rejoice as the movie adaptation -- starring Ben Affleck and directed by the one and only David Fincher -- is on its way to theatres.

And the first look is very promising indeed.

Playing former writer and bar-owner Nick Dunne is Argo star Affleck, and he unsurprisingly appears perfectly cast in the role of a man so smooth-looking that he appears untrustworthy

almost by default.

Which isn’t ideal for a husband under suspicion for murdering his wife.

The wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike) is missing.

And while Nick is defiant that he didn’t harm Amy, the narrative unfolds and skeletons begin tumbling out of his closet as we begin to learn Amy’s side of the story.

The book is a crackerjack thriller, a truly engrossing page-turner, and there could be no director better than Fincher (Zodiac, Seven, Fight Club, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) for the job.

The film releases on October 3, and from this first look, we’re already hooked.
