Akshay Kumar will return to the theatres with South director Krish's Gabbar Is Back.

Costarring Shruti Haasan, the film has Akshay playing the titular character -- a vigilante, to tackle corruption in the country.

Gabbar is Back is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. It will release on May 1.
