Catherine Tresa was last seen in the Telugu film Paisa directed by Krishnavamsi.

She partnered Karthi Sivakumar in the Tamil film Madras released a short while ago.

In her latest Telugu film Erra Bus, directed by Dasari Narayan Rao she is cast opposite Vishnu Manchu.

Catherine talks to Radhika Rajamani about Erra Bus,which releases this Friday, November 14.

Erra Bus is the remake of the Tamil film Manjappai. Have you seen the Tamil original?

Yes, I saw the Tamil original. My character is not a replica of the original character in Tamil.

I found the film to be a well-rounded family entertainer in terms of all the emotions and how they came together in the original and in our film.

What did you find interesting in the script?

I feel the film has the potential to redefine the relationship between grandfather and grandson. It can make people rethink about blood ties.

Is the film drastically different from the original?

I can’t say drastically different. There are changes.

You play the love interest of the hero. Could you talk about your character?

It was fun. It’s a different and interesting character.

I play an energetic doctor who shares an interesting chemistry with the hero.

It’s funny how they meet and how the relationship progresses.

Dasari Narayan Rao is a veteran director and actor. How did you feel being directed by him?

I was relaxed and he ensured I was so. He appreciated me for my acting and I felt that was big.

I got to pick up a lot during this film. He is such a fantastic actor and it is difficult to steal the show when you act with him.

He gets under the skin of the character and delivers a stellar performance. His performance will be the highlight of the film.

How was Vishnu as a co-star?

Vishnu is a unique actor. He is nice and grounded. It was a good experience acting with him.

Do you think Erra Bus will go down well with the audience?

I think they will definitely appreciate it. The film has a universal concept. The audience will relate to the film and enjoy it.
