It was a happy year for these Bollywood leading ladies.
After the biggest hits and flops of the year, here come the moneymakers.
Take a look at the actresses, who raked in the moolah with their hit films:
Deepika Padukone
Box office collection: Happy New Year: Rs 202 crore, Finding Fanny: Rs 32 crore Total: Rs 234 crore
After a super busy 2013, in which she had four major releases, Deepika had a relatively lighter 2014, with one big success (Happy New Year) and the offbeat Finding Fanny.
She played to the gallery in the former and showed a different facet of her acting talent in the latter.
With such varied films, Deepika exits 2014 on a satisfactory note with an interesting line-up in 2015.
Jacqueline Fernandez
Box office collection: Kick: Rs 232 crore
After serving as eye candy in several successful films, Jacqueline Fernandez bagged a substantial role in Kick opposite Salman Khan.
The film's major success has launched her into the big league.
Anushka Sharma
Box office collection: PK: 200+ crore
Anushka Sharma wasn't seen on screen for a long time after Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola in early 2013.
But the actress came back in a big way with PK, a blockbuster already.
Alia Bhatt
Box office collection: 2 States: Rs 102 crore, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya: Rs 78 crore, Highway: Rs 29 crore. Total: Rs 209 crore
Alia Bhatt was the performer of the year with each of her three releases showing off her talent.
Highway was a moderate success, but she went on to score a 100-crore hit with 2 States.
She did well in the romantic comedy Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya that won her plenty of young fans.
Katrina Kaif
Box office collection: Bang Bang: Rs 181 crore
Katrina Kaif's only 2014 release Bang Bang was a huge success.
The actress looked fresh and won over audiences with her song and dance numbers.
Sonakshi Sinha
Box office collection: Holiday: Rs 112 crore; Action Jackson: Rs 59 crore. Total: Rs 171 crore
Sonakshi scored a century yet again with Holiday.
She had a substantial role in Action Jackson but the film did well in single screens despite getting mixed reviews.
Shraddha Kapoor
Box office collection: Ek Villain: Rs 106 crore; Haider: Rs 60 crore. Total: Rs 166 crore
Ek Villain and Haider were both male-oriented films and Shraddha Kapoor had relatively minor parts.
Ek Villain became a commercial success and Haider won much critical acclaim.
As a young promising entrant, we look forward to see more of her in the movies.
Priyanka Chopra
Box office collection: Gunday: Rs 79 crore; Mary Kom: Rs 64 crore. Total: 143 crore
Priyanka made sure her character in Gunday had substance despite it being sold as a male-dominated film.
Her presence as well as the chartbuster track Tune Maari Entriyaan added to the film's fortunes.
The film where she proved her mettle was Mary Kom.
Kareena Kapoor Khan
Box office collection: Singham Returns: Rs 141 crore
Kareena Kapoor Khan had only one release in the year, Ajay Devgn starrer Singham Returns. The film did good business.
Tamannaah Bhatia
Box office collection: Entertainment: Rs72 crore; Humshakals: Rs 65 crore. Total: Rs 137 crore
Tamannaah managed to bring in over Rs 100 crore in the year gone by with Entertainment turning out to be a decent success and Humshakals making some money.
Parineeti Chopra
Box office collection: Hasee Toh Phasee: Rs 39 crore; Kill Dil: 35 crore, Daawat-e-Ishq: Rs 26 crore. Total: Rs 100 crore
A lot was expected from Parineeti Chopra in 2014.
She scored primarily with the decent success, Hasee Toh Phasee. But her subsequent movies with Yash Raj Films, Kill Dil and Daawat-e-Ishq, failed to pass muster.
