COMING UP: November's OTT Releases

Theatres may be releasing interesting movies this November, but OTT has interesting options too.

Joginder Tuteja lists the Web series and films coming up this month.

 

Akkad Bakkad Rafu Chakkar
Release date: November 3
Where to watch? Amazon Prime Video

November kick-starts with the release of Akkad Bakkad Rafu Chakkar.

Inspired by stories that made headlines around a fake bank being put up by a bunch of conmen, Akkad Bakkad Rafu Chakkar features primarily newcomers.

One waits to see how the Web series turns out.

 

Meenakshi Sundareshwar
Release date: November 5
Where to watch?Netflix

Karan Johar will have two releases on November 5. He is one of the producers of Sooryavanshi, which releases in theatres on November 5.

On the OTT platform, his original film Meenakshi Sundareshwar is set for release on the same day.

Featuring Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dasani as a South Indian couple who go through the trials and tribulations of a long-distance relationship soon after getting married, Meenakshi Sundareshwar is a light-hearted outing for family audiences.

 

Special Ops 1.5
Release date: November 12
Where to watch?Disney+Hotstar

Last year, Special Ops was among the best reviewed Web series in India.

Neeraj Pandey and Shivam Nair have now put together Special Ops 1.5 which goes back in time to give us Himmat Singh (Kay Kay Menon)'s back story and how he became an intelligence officer.

The first season saw a lot of action and thrills and the next season looks just as interesting.

 

Squad
Release date: November 12
Where to watch? ZEE5

Squad was originally designed for the movie halls, but it will now see an OTT release.

Directed by Nylo Sahay, it is said to boast of some never-seen-before action sequences.

Squad is also special since it marks Rinzing Denzongpa's debut.

 

Matsya Kaand
Release date: November 18
Where to watch? MX Player

Matsya Kaand tells the story of a conman (Ravii Dubey) chased by a cop (Ravi Kishan).

With Piyush Mishra in a special role, this looks like a fun entertainer with loads of action and drama.

 

Dhamaka
Release date: November 19
Where to watch?Netflix

Dhamaka is set to be the biggest OTT release of November, courtesy Kartik Aaryan featuring as the lead.

He is the first Bollywood star to have shot for a made-for-OTT film.

Directed by Ram Madhvani, Dhamaka promises edge-of-the-seat thrills.

 

Chhorii
Release date: To be announced
Where to watch? Amazon Prime Video

The last few weeks have seen quite a few horror outings. While Bhoot Police was a horror comedy, Dybbuk was an urban horror affair.

Now, Chhori gets into the village setting with Nushrat Bharucha playing the central protagonist.

Producer Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment) releases all his films and Web series on Amazon Prime (Breathe, Shakuntala Devi, Sherni, Durgamati) and Chhori is no different.

A remake of the Marathi film Lapachhapi, Chhori is directed by Vishai Furia, who had directed the original as well.
