Surprisingly, February's entertainment calendar isn't as full as it should be.

There are only two Web series and two movies finalised for release.

Even more surprising is the fact that romance does not dominate the month of Valentine's Day.

Joginder Tuteja takes us through the February releases of 2022.

Rocket Boys
Where to Watch: Sony LIV
Release date: February 4

Rocket Boys has a fabulous promo, and first-time director Abhay Pannu seems to have created a great entertainer, starring Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh (Pataal Lok).

Playing legendary scientists Dr Homi J Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai, Jim and Ishwak are set to give a treat to the audiences.

What makes this production special is the manner in which the entertainment quotient has been kept intact in the narrative, despite the serious subject.

Looop Lapeta
Where to watch: Netflix
Release date: February 4

An official adaptation of Tom Tykwer's German cult classic Run Lola Run, Looop Lapeta was originally designed for a theatrical release.

But the pandemic forced it to take the OTT route.

Starring Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin, this one belongs to the 'fun on the run' genre.

It will be interesting to see how Director Aakash Bhatia has spun the thriller.

The Great Indian Murder
Where to watch: Disney+Hotstar
Release date: February 4

Based on diplomat-novelist Vikas (Slumdog Millionaire) Swarup's best- selling novel The Six Suspects, The Great Indian Murder has Director Tigmanshu Dhulia foraying into the Web space again.

He has put together an exciting cast -- Richa Chadha, Pratik Gandhi, Ashutosh Rana and Raghubir Yadav among others -- for this murder mystery thriller.

The series revolves around an unpopular man who gets killed. While most people are celebrating his death, the cops try to solve the case.

Gehraiyaan
Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video
Release date: February 11

The big February release is Gehraiyaan.

Originally designed for a theatrical release, this one has Director Shakun Batra calling the shots again after his hit film, Kapoor & Sons.

The film stars Deepika Padukone along with Ananya Panday, seen in a very different kind of role from what she has been seen in.

Siddhant Chaturvedi returns after Bunty Aur Babli 2 while Dhairya Karwa, a Dharma find, makes his debut.

The Fame Game
Where to Watch: Netflix
Release date: February 25

Karan Johar has just announced his new thriller The Fame Game, starring Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Kapoor and Manav Kaul, and it's all set to release in February.

He gives us a hint about what to expect from this show: 'There is always a hidden truth behind the curtain of fame and stardom. What is this truth in the life of Bollywood's biggest star Anamika Anand?'

The series, which was earlier called Finding Anamika, is directed by Bejoy Nambiar and Karishma Kohli.
