The 24-year-old Toxic singer underwent a Caesarian section in a Los Angeles hospital.
Britney and husband Kevin Federline, 28, already have a son called Sean Preston, who will turn one on Thursday, September 14.
This will be Federline's fourth child. He has two from his former girlfriend Shar Jackson.
