Popular television star Ridhima Pandit was evicted from Bigg Boss OTT along with her connection Karan Nath in a surprise double eviction.

No prizes for guessing she is utterly disappointed and upset.

The actress believes that things could have been different had the show been about individual players instead of connections.

"Karan must have tried his best to be himself. I was being myself. We cannot project ourselves as somebody that we are not," she tells Rediff.com Contributor Mohnish Singh.

Are you feeling disheartened that your journey in Bigg Boss OTT came to an end so early?

I am feeling very disheartened.

I am very shocked, upset and disappointed.

At the same time, I do accept the fact that the concept of Bigg Boss OTT is based on connections, and it did not work out in my favour.

Did the double elimination surprise you?

Absolutely!

It caught me unaware.

Obviously, it made me feel bad that the connection did not go through at all with the audiences.

Karan Nath and you received the least votes as a connection. What went wrong?

It would have been a different scenario had it been about individual players.

But since it was based on connections, we had to go ahead with the format and play.

When you play as connections, if one contestant receives less votes, it is equally detrimental to the other contestant.

I believe the same happened in our case also and that’s why we were voted out.

Do you believe your stint could have been longer had Karan Nath not been your connection?

I would not like to put any blame on Karan.

He was playing the game the way he thought was right.

Karan and I are the kind of individuals who cannot be fake. We cannot project ourselves as somebody that we are not.

We are real people.

Karan must have tried his best to be himself. I was being myself.

Together, maybe we were not a great combination and hence, unfortunately, it did not work out.

What comes to your mind when I take these names:

Shamita Shetty: Shamita is very well-prepared.

Nishant Bhat: He just wants to play the game.

Zeeshan Khan: He should learn a little more about anxiety.

Akshara Singh: Aap ban sakti hain agli principal.

Pratik Sehajpal: He should let others speak at times.

Who do you think is in the show for the long haul?

It could have been me (smiles).

I cannot tell. Everybody is playing really well.

How have the two weeks in the house changed you as a person?

It has changed me a lot.

I have realised that the human mind and body can adapt to any situation in life.

Equations can change in the blink of an eye.

I have learnt what the survival instinct is.

At the same time, I met someone like Divya. She is now a dear friend.

How would you rate Karan Johar as the host of the show?

10 on 10.
