Even as the Hindi film industry was coping with the loss of veteran filmmaker O P Dutta's passing early this morning, came another tragic news of Anupam Kher's father passing away.

Kher tweeted the news himself: 'As I landed in Goa my brother Raju called from Mumbai that the "Best Dad in the World" ( our father ) is No More. Traveling back.'

Pushkar Nath Kher was apparently not keeping well recently. In fact, he had left his home in Shimla in November to stay with his son in Mumbai.

Only last month, on January 28, the senior Kher had turned 84.

Kher had tweeted then: 'Many men can make a fortune, but very few can build a family." My father did just did that. It is his 84th birthday today. Best Dad Ever.:)'

Kher was on his way to Goa to attend David Dhawan's son Rohit's wedding, scheduled on February 11, when the end came.
