Anupam Kher, who began working in the Hindi film industry 27 years ago in Mahesh Bhat's Saarannsh, and Radhika Sarath Kumar who started her career with Bharatiraja's Kizjakke Pogum Rayil in the Tamil film industry 32 years ago, are joining hands to impart their accumulated wisdom to future generations of wannabe actors.

Kher's acting school Actor Prepares will collaborate with Radhika's Radaan Media Works to start a branch of Actor Prepares in Chennai.

Actor Prepares is six years old and has chapters in Ahmedabad and Chandigarh. It has trained over 500 students in the last six years, many of whom have careers in films produced in Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and also in television serials and the world of modelling.

Radaan Mediaworks India Limited, promoted by Radika Sarath Kumar, has been in the media industry from 1994.
It produces programmes in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Sinhalese, and recently in Gujarati and Hindi too.

Anupam Kher said at the launch that a lot of research and analysis of the best acting schools in the world was done before finalising the curriculum for Actor Prepares. The course is for three months and also includes training in yoga and martial arts.

"When we came to the industry, we were allowed to make mistakes and we learnt through our mistakes. But for today's generation, there is no time for mistakes," Kher said, explaining the need for an acting school.

Radhika said, "I didn't know how to act or dance or lip sync for songs when I came to the industry 32 years ago. I learnt only with experience. Now, I want to give back my knowledge and expertise to the future generations."
