The 58-year-old Bollywood veteran, who we last saw in the Hindi adaptation of hit American show 24, is reportedly flying to Los Angeles next week to dub for one of the characters on the show.
While he was reluctant to reveal details about the character, he did admit that the role has made him even more popular among the younger Kapoors of the family.
“My children are crazy about the show. They can’t believe I am doing a voice in Family Guy,” he revealed.
Previously, some of the biggest Hollywood stars, like Brad Pitt, have done guest voices on the show.
“My character will appear with the show’s famous Griffin family. It is a new experience for me and you know how much I like having new experiences,” Kapoor said.
While McFarlane voices the character of Peter Griffin, the patriarch of the family at the centre of the show, actress Mila Kunis voices Meg, Griffin's awkward teenaged daughter who doesn't fit in at school and is often ridiculed for her appearance.
Peter's wife Louis Griffin is voiced by actress-comedienne Alex Borstein while Seth Green voices their son Chris.
