AMAZING Films Coming Up on Netflix!

After Disney + Hotstar released its exciting line-up , it's Netflix's turn to announce their coming attractions.

While some of these films were made for Netflix, the rest had planned for a theatrical release.

Joginder Tuteja tells us what to expect:

 

Ludo

Anurag Basu's Ludo has a similar format as that of his well received Life... In A Metro, what with the lives of various characters intersecting with each other.

Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Pankaj Tripathi and Pearle Maaney star in this film.

 

Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl

Dharma CEO Apoorva Mehta and head honcho Karan Johar were deciding when to release Gunjan Saxena when the lockdown intervened.

It has been a while since Janhvi Kapoor's Dhadak released and she will be seen again on the screen in this biopic on an IAF lady pilot.

Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi and Viineet Kumar co-star in this patriotic drama.

 

Torbaaz

Torbaaz went on the floors in December 2017.

Director Girish Malik made Jal with Purab Kohli earlier and one waits to see what he does with an interesting plot and actors like Sanjay Dutt, Nargis Fakhri and Rahul Dev.

 

Tribhanga - Tedhi Medhi Crazy

Tribhanga was designed as a Netflix film with Kajol leading the Ajay Devgn production.

Renuka Shahane turns director for this family drama featuring three women belonging to different generations -- Kajol, Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar -- and how they interact in a dysfunctional family.

It has an interesting tagline: 'Tedhi Medhi Crazy'.

 

Raat Akeli Hai

Directed by casting director-turned-film-maker Honey Trehan, Raat Akeli Hai is a thriller, which reunites Radhika Apte and and Nawazuddin Siddiqui after Manjhi: The Mountain Man and Badlapur.

 

Class Of '83

Bobby Deol takes centrestage in Class of '83, where he plays a cop. The Netflix Original is produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies.

 

AK VS AK

Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap were supposed to come together more than a decade ago with Alwyn Kalicharan. Unfortunately, it was shelved.

AK and AK star in Vikramaditya Motwane's dark comedy, AK VS AK.

The older AK plays a superstar while the younger AK plays a movie director.

 

Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare

An Ekta Kapoor production, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare stars Konkona Sensharma and Bhumi Pednekar. It tells the story of two cousins and a secret that they share.

It has been directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, who made the applauded film Lipstick Under My Burkha, and co-directed the well received Amazon Prime series Made in Heaven.

 

Ginny Weds Sunny

It's time to welcome another romcom set against a wedding.

Directed by Puneet Khanna, the film stars that lovely couple, Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey.

 

Kaali Khuhi

Titled Black Well in English, Kaali Khuhi is about female infanticide in Punjab.

Shabana Azmi, Satyadeep Mishra, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Riva Arora star.

 

Bombay Rose

After making the rounds of international film festivals, Bombay Rose -- a much applauded animation flick -- finally makes it our way.

The film is directed by Gitanjali Rao, who wowed us as an actress in Shoojit Sircar's October.

 

Serious Men

An adaptation of columnist Manu Joseph's novel, Sudhir Mishra's film is about a slum dweller who cons the country into believing that his dim-witted son is a genius.

The film also stars Nassar and Shweta Basu Prasad.
