Akshara Haasan to make acting debut

Kamal Haasan and Sarika’s younger daughter Akshara will make her acting debut very soon.

Her parents had felt that Akshara was more interested in direction. Since older daughter Shruti was already an actress, Akshara’s filmmaking potential would have nicely rounded off the family’s creative ambit.

"Sarika had put her on to her friend (filmmaker) Rahul Dholakia, with whom she had worked in Parzania and Society.

Akshara assisted Rahul Dholakia and the whole family thought she was heading towards a career in filmmaking. But then K Balki spotted Akshara and offered her a role in his new film. Akshara took the plunge," says a close friend of Kamal Haasan’s family.

Interestingly, Akshara has been paired opposite Dhanush. Dhanush is a dear friend of Akshara’s sister Shruti, and also the son-in-law of Kamal Haasan’s rival Rajinikanth.

The film will also star Amitabh Bachchan in a stellar role.

The shooting is expected to start next month.
